No flaggers, no police, and no one seems to care.
Parents, dumb as rocks, continued to not only try to drive around the BUS as it had to go BACKWARDS after it came into the intersection and saw the FIVE double rigs waiting to make the corner, but I also caught a kid crossing through the middle of the mess when some mom honked the horn to pick them up.

My phone call to the SJ PD was routed to Sgt. Marcio, who called to tell me that:
1: It's not the police dept. problem.
2: Code enforcement should be called if the construction people fail to handle flaggers.
3: There is nothing anyone can do about the school district pointing traffic this direction, construction or not.
4: The BEST the police will do is have someone try to drive through the area sometime.
By the time he called back, it was 2 hours after school letting out (which is when this is an issue). No one appears to want to come out and HANDLE the traffic out here, and the 'flaggers' are apparently not doing their job if they aren't even ON the street.
What would I have liked?
1: Mandatory contact in person (so they could see the problem pics above)
2: PD referring this themselves to code enforcement as a top priority to come handle FIRST thing in the AM when the school will be dropping kids off while the trucks are moving
3: Police sending this to traffic/ streets to have the mandatory turn sign looked into as creating a serious hazard in this neighborhood
4:Follow up promised.
I also contacted the school, got lots of supportive lip service, but no one is going to DO anything there either.
Which is why I continue to say that SJ is a pit to live in and no one wants to do their jobs until someone gets hit. Probably one of the little ones on our street.... I am VERY frustrated!
